On Wednesday 3rd May we hosted a PIXL English conference in the theatre. This was aimed at boosting Year 11 students' skills and revision techniques for the  new English Language GCSE, in the run up to the exams. Our students were mature and focused delegates - and the conference organiser commented on how well behaved they were.

GCSE Results 2016

posted 25 Aug 2016, 03:03 by Nat Admin   [ updated 15 Sep 2016, 02:49 ]

We are so very pleased with our results and exceptionally proud of our students and the incredible staff at our school who supported them.

54% of our students achieved A*-C EM, compared to 38% last year and the new accountability measure (Progress 8) we estimate has improved from -0.38 to -0.24 from last year.

Joy Ballard, Principal, said ‘These are the best results in our history as an Academy and what I would consider to be the start of our journey towards excellence. Although we are celebrating our results today we know we can do even better.

This proves that despite some of the negativity directed towards island schools, our students can and will succeed. We are aiming to build on this, and combined with our new build due to open next year we know that we can create a school our students, staff, parents and indeed the island can be proud of.

We would like to wish all our students all the best for the future and encourage them to continue to #ShineBright’.
