We held our annual Awards Evening on Wednesday 4th July 2018. This is an evening where parents and staff are able to share in the success of our students. The event was held at All Saints Church and hosted by Cannon Graham Morris.

Awards were presented for each subject for ‘Highest Achievement’ and Best Progress’. Awards were also given out to students with 100% attendance.

This year we also presented the Harvard club of the UK award to one exceptional AMAT (Academically More Able and Talented) student who have displayed excellent academic skills along with exceptional personal qualities. This were awarded to Aaron Gould in the 6th Form.

Parents, students and staff were also treated to student performances; Christian Pantelei, age 14, played Chopin’s Polonaise Opus 40 no.1 as people arrived at the church and Talitha Monaghan, age 12 opened the awards evening with a beautiful rendition of ‘The Jones Boys’, a Canadian folk song by Jay Althouse. This was followed later in the evening by an inspiring version of ‘A Millions Dreams’ from the Greatest Showman by Hayley Andrews age 15.

The evening ended with Joy Ballard, handing out the Principal’s Award which this year was won by Ruth Gale, age 16. Ruth was nominated for her sense of community spirit and kindness to others.

Joy said: ‘I was so proud of our winners and it was very moving to see the delight on their parents’ faces. Ensuring children do well at school relies on a strong partnership between school and parents and it it was such a pleasure sharing together the success of our students. We are so grateful to Graham Morris for letting us use his beautiful church. We are very proud of our place in the Ryde community and to have the opportunity to celebrate student achievements with others ’.
