Congratulations to the newly elected members of the Student Council:

Year 11: Pinky Muchenje, Owen Cotton and Kate Wilkinson
Year 10: Amelia Clews and Kristian Rouse
Year 9: Thomas Hayward, Midi Dawson and Annie Newnham
Year 8: Anna Cockayne, Ethan Wolfe, Hannah Ainsworth and India Dale
Year 7: Callum Dean, Georgia Newbery, Jasmine Wheeler and Rosanna Barrett

Their first meeting was on Thursday and the minutes will soon be available on the Student Council page on our website. You can also read more about it in this Newsletter.

It sounds like the students who attended the Literary Festival at Ryde school yesterday had a good morning. More information and photos, taken by Jazmin in Year 7, of the event will be in next weeks Newsletter.

Next week is very busy! Year 11 mock exams are taking place and you should have received a letter about this in the post.

We also have the Year 7 Halloween disco which a group of 6th Form Business students have organised.

On Friday Year 10 and 6th Form students are at Cowes Enterprise College for the Noel Turner Physics Festival. This is a great opportunity for young scientists to link their classroom learning with real life applications of science and also to meet local people who work in the field of science.

A letter has been posted with arrangements for the first day of term and also with information about the new ‘cashless’ catering (ParentPay) and biometric recognition system that will be in place from Monday 6th November. More information about this can be found on our website.

Friday 20th October is also the last day in this building which will be a bitter sweet moment for many. Although our new school is a much better and more inspired environment for teaching and learning, many of us have fond memories of the old building.

Have a lovely weekend.

Joy
