We have reached the end of the term and the end of an era. Although staff will be in for packing and preparing for the move, this is the last time this building will be used as a school. I know there are lots of us with very happy memories of the school but we are about to embark on a new and exciting chapter.

Following our open day for former staff and students we have received lots of stories and photos and we have started an archive on our website where we will share them with everyone. It is small at the moment but once we are settled in to the new building we will be adding more photos and memories.

You should have received a letter with information about the arrangements for the start of the new term and you can also find this information on our website.

You should also have received information about our new ‘cashless’ catering and biometric system, and again you can find this information on our website. Students have now had their thumbprint scanned (unless permissions were not granted) so they will be ready to use this to pay for their lunch and to use photocopiers and printers when we move into the new school.

Just a reminder that if you are visiting our reception in the new term, the entrance will be further down Pell lane (the old maths gate which is currently being used by McAlpines). Once you arrive you will then need to then walk the length of the building to get to reception. This will be in place for the next year whilst demolition and landscaping works take place.

Our next Parents’ Evening is for Year 7 and takes place on Thursday 9th November 4pm-7pm. Letters have been posted home about this.

I would like to wish you all a relaxing half term.

42 of our students went to see a Rambert (a contemporary dance company in London) triple bill including Ghost Dances (A Level set work) and A Linha Curva (GCSE set work). They loved it so much that they got straight to work on their notes on the midnight ferry!
