We had a fantastic Open Evening on Thursday and we are incredibly proud of our Prefects and student helpers who helped set up, showed parents and pupils around, served refreshments and welcomed people as they arrived. We also had two beautiful performances and some student speakers.

On the last day of this term, Friday 19th October, we are holding a mufti day. Students and staff will be able to wear non uniform, which must be in their House colour, for a donation of £1.

Members of the Student Council have started up a stationery shop in the library where students can buy stationery items during tutor time. Thank you very much to Caterlink, our canteen providers, for donating the till students will be using.

I would also like to thank Richard May, Headteacher at Greenmount Primary School and also a talented artist. He has donated one of his paintings to us and Midi and Jasmine from the Student Council chose the painting which now takes pride of place in our foyer by reception.

On Thursday 11th October 4pm-7pm we are holding our ‘Meet the Tutor’ evening for parents/carers of our Year 7 students.  As the name suggests this is an opportunity to meet your child’s tutor who will discuss how your child has settled into the Academy. It will give you the chance to ask questions and raise any concerns you may have. To book an appointment with the tutor please log onto www.schoolinterviews.co.uk enter the following code, 6xvjk, and press go. You will be asked for your email address to proceed to book the appointment.

Congratulations to this weeks winner of the Principal’s Star award - James Watson in Year 7. He recently committed an act of public service and we are proud of his community spirit.

Have a lovely weekend.

Joy
