The snow has gone and the days are getting longer! It’s lovely to see that it is lighter in the mornings and evenings and a real sign that spring is on it’s way.

Demolition continues as you can see from the pictures on the right. I can view the work being done from my office and it’s fascinating to see how they can dismantle a building so quickly and with very little disruption to the school day.

Congratulations to our two IT apprentices, Connor (a former student) and Alex, for winning ‘Apprentice champions of the year’ awards. I am very proud of them and pleased their hard work and studies have been recognised. The Academy also won ‘Best Academy support of the year’ at the AET Apprenticeship Awards 2018.

We held our last Parents’ Evening on Thursday for Year 8s and attendance was good.

Next week, on 15th March, is BBC School Report Day. I am so pleased that we are involved this year and hope it’s the start of a new tradition. Well done to all the students who have worked so hard on producing their reports and to the 6th formers who have helped manage the process along with Mrs Andrew, Teacher of English and Media.

Have a lovely weekend.
