Welcome back to the final term of the year!
This is
going to be a busy and exciting term as we prepare for the move into our new
school.
We also have lots of transition events coming up including
the Year 6s spending time with us at the end of June (29th or 30th depending on
the primary school) and the Year 5s on either 6th or 7th July. The PE
department are also organising a sporting event for the primaries on 23rd June.
We will be sending out further information about these soon.
Just a reminder that members of AET staff will be available
from 12.00pm to 7.00pm on Wednesday 14th June to answer questions and to
provide information in relation to the proposed amalgamation of the two
academies. Students, families and staff are invited to call in between these
times. The AET staff will be in meeting room 1 which is in our main reception.
The consultation is also still available and can be accessed
via our website.
You should also be receiving a letter through the post in
the next couple of days from our Chair of Governors, Lesley Holmes. The letter
has been written on behalf of our Governors in response to the recent
announcement and now live consultation process on the merger.
The first of our careers question and answer sessions for
Year 10s starts on Wednesday 14th June with a session on Nursing followed by
Early Years Education and Childcare on Thursday 15th June. These continue until
6th July. Information about all the sessions can be found in this Newsletter. This is a great opportunity for
students to find out more about a variety of careers from the people who
actually do those jobs.
Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the festival
if you are going.
