Parental Engagement & Family Learning

At Ryde Academy we believe that parents and carers, along with other stakeholders (all staff, students, governors and the wider community), are integral to Academy life and student achievement. We want parents/carers to be involved wherever possible and for the Academy to be a welcoming place to visit. A big part of this is our Family Learning programme to which all parents, carers and family members are welcome.

Next Event

The next Family Learning session is Halloween bunting and cards on Monday 16th October, 4.45 pm—6.15 pm.  To book a place, you can email Mrs Baxter at tbaxter@rydeacademy.org

On 28th June our Family Learning event was beaded bracelets and key rings.  Thank you to Jade for delivering a brilliant workshop. Everyone enjoyed it and all left with beautifully made key chains and bracelets. As this was over-subscribed and so popular with everyone who attended, we will be running a second session in the Autumn term.

Thank you to all the parents who attended the recent Family Learning Maths session. Well done to the MacArthur-Giles family who won the bridge building challenge by building the strongest bridge for the least cost.

Very well done and a massive thank you to the staff, Matthew Snelling, Emily Ball and Kieran Sanderson who planned and delivered the session.

Thank you to all the parents and pupils who completed the feedback forms at our recent Open Evening. Congratulations to Josie whose form was drawn from the box and won a £10 Love2Shop voucher.

We loved reading all your comments and thank you for taking the time to respond.

‘Wow what a fantastic school, students are a real credit to you. My son says best school ever’

Thank you. Enjoyed music, food and technology and computer sciences. Children are keen to come here!’

We will be handing out feedback forms at our future Parent Evenings and each returned slips earns your child House points.
