First Day at School - New Year 7s

posted 28 Jul 2017, 00:55 by Nat Admin
Below is a copy of the letter we have sent to all our new year 7s. The name of your tutor will have been in included in the hard copy posted out. There has been a slight change so if your letter said you are in 7KIP it should have read 7EMP.

For your first day you just need to make sure you have your learning kit with you and are wearing the correct uniform. You can find out more about the uniform here. Your learning kit is:
  • Black or blue pen
  • Red pen
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • DEAR book. DEAR stands for Drop Everything and Read. All students take part in reading a book for 20 minutes every day. The timings change every week but it's always the last 20 minutes of a lesson. You can find out more about it on our Literacy page. If you don't have a book you can borrow one from the library.
  • Planner. You will receive your planner on your first day.
Don't worry about finding your way around as you will all meet on the courts, where you met for the transition days, and your tutor will take you to your tutor room. There are always lots of staff and older students around who will help you find your way to lessons and you will know your way round the building quicker than you think!

We look forward to welcoming our new Year 7s on Wednesday 6th September.
