Message from Trend Cafe regarding provision that they are offering to Year 6 students to support their transition into Secondary School in September:

"Trend Youth Cafe is a Footprint Trust project, a charity supported by the Isle of Wight Council Youth Offer, to provide a safe space in the centre of Newport for young people to spend time, socialising, relaxing or doing homework. We offer a range of free and discounted drinks and snacks, and provide the opportunity to take part in upcycled craft activities.

Trend is open from 3:30pm to 6;00pm every school day, for young people aged between 10 and 19. We are encouraging young people who are currently in Year 6 to pop in before the end of term, and bring their parents to find out more about us.  We provide a safe environment to spend time with other students from the various Secondary schools on the Island, and can assist in developing independence skills, whether that is walking home alone, meeting a parent/carer in town or while waiting for a bus home.  We hope that knowing that there is a safe place to go, and a friendly face to talk to, will provide reassurance for parents and young people during the first few weeks of transition.

We have a Facebook Page, Twitter Feed and we're on Instagram, where we share details of our forthcoming activities and showcase the crafts we produce.

We look forward to seeing you soon!"
