On Monday 27th June 2016, fourteen students from Year 10 attended the Island Futures careers event at the County Showground. They were able to speak to local employers and find out more about what careers were available to them here on the Island. There was a wide range of employers including the NHS, the Isle of Wight Zoo, Red Funnel and Liz Earle.

Students also had the opportunity to find out about apprenticeships and post-16 courses from local providers and volunteering opportunities. There was a keynote speech from local Olympic Gold Winning rower, Louis Attrill.

Students participated in a speed dating activity where they were able to quiz the employers to find out more about working life and what they look for in their employees.
